Performances presented by Printed Matter and Noah Klein, with V. Vale, Mutual Benefit, Yasmin Williams, Sarah Louise, Lush Agave + Wild Anima, Nailah Hunter, and Laraaji

Since 1977, V Vale has dedicated his life to documenting and preserving the histories of punk and countercultural movements, via his Search & Destroy zine series and RE/SEARCH Publications. In addition to his four decades of frontline cultural-anthropological explorations, Vale is a beautiful pianist and has spent much of the last year channeling soundtracks for our quarantine. For PMVABF, we present a collection of late night improvisations and a theme song for the Fair, featuring Marian Wallace.

Jordan Lee captures and arranges sound as Mutual Benefit. For the past decade the project has focused on collaboration, processing the meanings of ordinary moments, and exploring what it means to be a part of a creative ecosystem that's bigger than oneself.

Yasmin Williams is an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist with an unorthodox, modern style of playing. Her music has been commonly described as refreshing, relaxing and unique and has been called some of the most imaginative guitar music out today.

Guitarist, singer, forager, and composer Sarah Louise lives in the woods outside of Asheville, North Carolina. In her work as a solo artist she draws upon both traditional and experimental music, teasing out the components of Appalachian folk music, as well as spiritual jazz, contemporary classical, and new age, while drawing intensely personal inspiration from the natural world.

Lush Agave and Wild Anima’s Hidden Eden is a collaborative zine and film, written and recorded during a residency at the Fish Factory Creative Center of Stöðvarfjörður, Iceland during the summer solstice of 2018. Together, their work unveils an ecology of emotions; an exploration of the relationship and reflections of our physical and emotional nature with the earth's landscape, and how connecting with this, how stewarding land and water, is a pathway to our own healing.

Nailah Hunter is a harpist, vocalist, composer, and spellcaster living in Los Angeles. Guided by her intuition, she creates otherworldly music inspired by a connection to her ancestors, as well as her love of fantasy.

Laraaji is a musician, mystic and laughter meditation practitioner based in New York City. He began performing on the streets of Manhattan in the 1970s, improvising experimental jams on a modified autoharp, which led to the release of Ambient 3: Day of Radiance produced by Brian Eno. He has since toured the world, released albums with a variety of celebrated labels and artists, and continues a long held tradition of orangeness. For PMVABF, Laraaji brings us into his home for a peaceful performance, recorded from bed.
